What's the subject? Is it about English? History? Math?
Just a quick note that students are not expected to develop or seek "new findings", "new stats", or "new facts" about a certain subject. That's the job of PHD prof/experts to find those facts through strict, scholarly research guidelines. The student's job is to just know and understand the findings and facts, what people have said about the subject, plus your opinion on it.
(Not as hard as you think). For exams that tests you about something that's on, or can be found on a book or print, there should be some resources online that shows the summary of what you're studying.
You don't have to read everything there is in a summary site. You also don't have to read EVERYTHING in an assigned reading either. You can skip their examples and "stories" section. Just try to find the MAIN POINTS and MAIN IDEAS of what you're reading. Then, remember those points, and write your opinion of that certain event or fact (if asked).
You will do fine. Before you do the exam, you can close your eyes and take a deep breath to try to relax. Know that this is one single exam and it will not define who you are as a person. Don't be afraid to make mistakes and seek help if you find something unclear. Good luck <3
